finding the bottom of E

If someone ran out of gas on their way to work, would you take the extra 2 min. to go out of your way to help them?

For the four people I asked yesterday morning, the answer to this question was NO!!! Yes, I know the first question to be asking is why in the world did I run out of gas in the first place? I’m not sure. I can say this was only the second time I have ever run out. I was going to fill up the night before but was in a hurry to get home and go to bed. I had made up my mind to fill up that morning on my way to work. Unfortunately, I came up about a mile short. So, at 5 o’clock in the morning I found myself walking to the gas station instead of driving… did I mention it was 33 degrees outside. Yeah, it was and I nearly died. Not really. Anyway, I walked across the street and asked bystander #1 if he would give me a ride. He responded with a NO. He said something about having to stay there for a minute and then head off to work or something like that. Regardless, bless him!!! So, I set off on my quest for gas. When I got to the gas station, I bought and filled up a gas can and then asked bystander #2, #3, and #4 for a ride back to my car. All of them one by one answered back with resounding NO. Although, I can see there reason for not giving me a ride… the were all going the other way. That’s reasonable right? Oh well, hopefully they won’t get sick on that Thanksgiving turkey and spend their whole weekend giving it back up….. that’s not what I meant. Anyways, at this point, I am wondering if this was a journey that the Lord wanted me to take alone. So I gave up asking because at this point I was 15 minutes late for work. So I trotted back to my car with finger high for all my previously mentioned bystanders to see… ever heard of the good samaritan? Didn’t think so. Anyways, I’m really not that bitter about it, and there’s really not a point to this story except maybe don’t run out of gas in Southlake, Tx.
